James Wong Endorses Vii, Make Singaporeans Look Silly

by Patrick on December 5th, 2007

The China’s answer to the Nintendo Wii, the Vii, is having not bad sales in mainland China. Using stars and celebs in endorsing games and gaming products is not new but engaging a multiple Southeast Asia (SEA) Games gold medallist and Singapore’s sports poster boy, James Wong Tuck Yim or better known as James Wong, to endorse Vii is really a shameless great marketing move for a pirated Wii.

However, the Vii endorsement by a model Singaporean has actually embarrassed some Singapore Netizens and most Singapore gamers.

Omg…thats it. I’m throwing my citizenship away. I’m ashamed to meet my international peers if they see this. They’ll compare us to some china dude.

In the advert, James Wong & family are seen happily playing the Vii which in turn, they have projected an image that the Vii is even better than the Real Thing.

But wait…if you see this Vii as a motor-skills development training tool rather than a next-gen video game console, I’ll have to agree with James Wong that the Vii is the best present to give to your kids as a Sports 101 training gizmo.
